Ellagic Acid Extract

What is Ellagic Extract (90%)?

Supports a variety of health issues. Ellagic Acid extract may inhibit fungi and yeast growth, kill bacteria, reduce parasites, supports apoptosis of certain cells, promotes blood coagulation and protects DNA.

Ellagic acid has been clinically shown to possess broad spectrum anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-parasitical, anti-oxidant, anti-mutagenic and cardioprotective properties. Ellagica contains USP grade ellagic acid blended with herbs that support healthy coagulation parameters specifically chosen to counter the activation of Factor XII (the Hageman Blood Clotting Factor) that high doses of ellagic acid can trigger.

What does NR+ help with in the body?

What have the studies shown?

Fungi and Yeast

Ellagic acid inhibits the fungal and yeast enzyme chitin Synthase II. All fungi and yeast need this enzyme to manufacture Chitin, a key structural polysaccharide used in their cell walls. By suppressing this key fungal and yeast enzyme, the fungi and yeast are unable to grow. When they die at the natural end of their life cycle, they cannot be replaced as long as the Chitin Synthase II Enzyme is inhibited. Since Chitin Synthase II is not a human enzyme, its inhibition does us no harm.

Bacteria

Ellagic acid inhibits the viral enzyme gyrase. All bacteria need this enzyme to maintain the integrity of their DNA. By suppression this key bacterial enzyme, bacterial DNA unspools and the bacteria die. Since Gyrase is not a human enzyme, its inhibitions does us no harm.

Parasites

The exact mechanism by which parasites are affected by ellagic acid is not clear but current research points to the glutathione transferase pathway.

DNA Support

Ellagic acid binds to DNA and acts as a shield, protecting DNA from mutagens, is a strong antioxidant and increases the expression of the enzyme p21, which arrests cell division of cells that have DNA damage.

Hematology

Ellagica combines USP grade ellagic acid with nattokinase, bromelain and ginkgo biloba to support healthy blood coagulation levels. Pumpkin seed extract is also added as it specifically suppresses activation of the Hageman Factor (Factor XII), which is the factor that ellagic acid can stimulate.

Ellagic acid has been clinically shown to

ellagic acid (EA), a compound that can be obtained upon intestinal hydrolysis of dietary ellagitannins, a family of polyphenols naturally found in several fruits and seeds. There is increasing research on cardiometabolic effects of ellagitannins, EA, and urolithins (EA metabolites). We updated research conducted on these compounds and (I) glucose metabolism; (II) inflammation, oxidation, and glycation; and (III) diabetic complications. We included studies testing EA in isolation, extracts or preparations enriched in EA, or EA-rich foods (mostly pomegranate juice). Animal research on the topic, entirely conducted in murine models, mostly reported glucose-lowering, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-glycation effects, along with prevention of micro- and macrovascular diabetic complications. Clinical research is incipient and mostly involved non-randomized and low-powered studies, which confirmed the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of EA-rich foods, but without conclusive results on glucose control
